Some of you may have seen some of the nice comments Ive been receiving from my activist friends. One simply says "asshole", while another is somewhat more eloquently written in what I'm guessing can only be pig Latin.....
"you are really an idiot or just a liar? even idiots find jobs that require a minimal function brain. I am sure you can handle it if you focus hard"
Hmmm....o.k.
Some things could not be published. And you should see the comments on my youtube videos that I didnt take down...there were also some that were so vile I felt obligated to erase them.
THIS is the TRUE nature of the animal rights activist. When they can no longer justify their slander; when they are no longer allowed to spew hate at will; when they are confronted with the truth; when they are outed as the liars and extremists they are, they resort to juvenile name calling and attempting to anonymously harass, malign, and belittle us. Its pathetic. Its time to admit your lies, and resign to your defeat.
To these people it is no longer about "the horses". Maybe it never was. Either way, their focus is now on us as individuals. They want revenge for being outed as know-nothing extremists. They can not admit defeat and so, now it is their goal to personally attack each and every driver. We have been confronted with threats of violence, personal attacks, character assassination, racist remarks, and even threatened with IRS investigation! Good luck, guys. We have nothing to hide. So, your witch hunt can go on. But, just know, you are only showing yourselves as ignorant, self-serving monsters. So, go to it.......You'll NEVER stop us from working with our beloved horses!

I don't think the RARA's understand that if the people who owned the company I work for were mistreating the animals, I would be the first person standing in front of the business with a protest sign.
Giving an animal a job is not cruel or a sin.
I feel the same way. If I knew of any kind of mistreatment going on in the business....I would be the FIRST to speak out against it! But, they dont get it and they never will.
Just wanted to offer a pat on the back and a high five or whatever the kids are calling it now. Animals need jobs, and pulling a nice carriage over paved roads looks like a pretty good gig. Hang in there. These types will find someone else to besiege. Or maybe they'll grow up or get sane.
Not likely, but thanks for the positive thoughts!
Excellent videos, BTW.
I know NYC has been dealing with the AR crazies for a long time, but we are new to this in Chicago. The claims the protesters spew are so preposterous, that they have been met with hostility by the public. I get more compliments about my horse than ever, and have been stopped on the street by people who are pissed at the AR. In today's society, horses ARE obsolete (except for the Amish). They are not true 'pets', in the sense that they live outside, and not in your home. I love my horses and I will take care of them until they die, but if they don't have jobs, what are they? Lawn ornaments? If I felt that working my horse 4 months a year and driving a carriage was so cruel, I wouldn't do it. Simple as that.
I wonder about extremists of any sort. Maybe it's like a hobby--a very important hobby to which they are tightly bound. It's not about the truth of their cause. It's about the emotion, or the power--or, maybe it's just something to give them an excuse to scream at people on the street? IOW, these are slightly demented people who pick a "cause" that allows them to do what they want to do--scream at people--without having to go to jail for it? I love the carriages, the way they ornament a city, connect the now to the was, so the city isn't just an ephemeral place to make money. Sweet. Stay safe, you guys
asshole
Another well thought out response to my blog from an animal activists, Im sure. Hmmm. Who could it be? Roxanne Delgado? Elizabeth Forel? Felix serpente? there are many of them...who knows...who cares. They are ALL pathetic. Thanks for proving my point yet again, guys!
