Our Stable-Olypmpic Standard

I'm soooo sick of hearing the animal rights extremists say that our stables are "warehouses" or "filthy and cramped". This is simply not true. These "warehouses" were BUILT as stables. All stables in Manhattan were multi storied buildings in the 1800's and early 1900's. the carriages were stored on the ground floors, the horses on the second floors, and the hay and bedding stored on the third floors, just as they are today. Albeit we have made MANY upgrades. Just 4 years ago a group of carriage drivers bought our own building on the west side and turned it into a state of the art stable.
I have been in hundreds of stables in my life time, and only one other time have I ever seen one with the amenities and cleanliness of ours. This stable is beautiful. So beautiful, in fact, that the Pres. of the Carriage Ass. of America has deemed it of "Olympic standard".
1. Our stable is some 40,000 square feet, encompassing 3 levels and a full basement. Every stall is a box stall. Some are 8x10-for the smaller horses, like Standardbreds. Others are 10x10 or bigger-for the draft horses. Each stall was measured and picked specifically for the size of the horse. This is easily enough room for our horses to turn around, lay down and stretch out completely. (That is one of the many fallacies that our foes like to spread about us!) In fact, my horse loves to lay down and stretch out. He is so funny...he snores and twitches in his sleep, just like a dog! HA! He is one of the largest horses in NYC and he has plenty of room.
2. Each stall in our stable has automatic waterers. This gives the horse a chance at absolutely clean, fresh, cold water 24 hours a day. It also saves the stable-men time, so that they can focus on other tasks.
3. We have 3 stable-men on at any one time. They clean the stalls several times each day, give the horses daily grooming and baths, clean and sweep, and look after the overall well-being of the horses and stable. They also look after the security of the stable (so that one of the PETA freaks or Donny Moss do not trespass-as they have been known to do!)
4. Our stalls are outfitted with high-quality rubber mats which are covered over with ample amounts of bedding. Between each stall and the walkway is a 2-3 inch deep trough. This takes away any urine or water that may soak to the bottom of the bedding. It is a very ingenious drainage system. It also allows for easy washing-down of the aisle ways.
5. We also have intake and outtake ventilation throughout the building. This allows for fresh air to be circulated through the stable area in the winter, when we don't necessarily want the windows open. It also allows for extra ventilation in the summer. There are also huge fans all over the stall areas that are outfitted with misters. This helps to keep the stable many degrees cooler in the summer months. (Many animal rights activist want the stables to be outfitted with heating and air conditioning! As any horseman knows, this would be a mistake of magnificent proportions since horses grow coats of thick hair in the winter months and regulate their own temperatures with more or less body fat! Also, taking an animal from an environment that is cooled or heated to the environment outside is asking for sickness and colic. I have NEVER seen a stable with such features...and I would seriously question anyone who would want such an idiotic setup!!!)
6. Our stables also have a state of the art sprinkler system. Since the building was a paper company before we bought it, you can imagine what a system we inherited. It is a VERY expensive and a VERY good sprinkler system. Every stable in NYC has one, even though our adversaries love to lie and say they don't.
I'm sure I am forgetting some aspects of the stable. I will post pictures in the near future so you all can see for yourselves. If anyone reading this has any questions feel free to ask. I am here to show the world how we REALLY operate. I'm here to expose the lies and disgusting attacks the animal rights agenda has perpetrated on us!

PETA and their Video-Natzi's

There have been a couple of guys following the carriage's around for about 6-7 months now. At first we really thought that these guys were going to be a nuisance. Actually, they have proved to be an asset for us. You see, their agenda is to find some inhumane treatment or outright abuse on our part. This they will never find. We love our horses and not one carriage driver would ever abuse or neglect his or her horse. By them filming us for up to 9 hours a day, every day, for months, this proves there is no abuse. If there were, they would be the first to announce it and put it on the web or give it to the media. The truth is, there has NEVER been a driver cited for animal cruelty in over 100 years of carriage service in Central Park.
Jason Alexander Bayless and his cronies have been hired by PETA to follow a different driver every day and continuously video them throughout the work day. Sometimes it is very annoying to have these two freaks following us and making our customers feel a little anxious. But, in the end, it doesnt really matter. They will find nothing. And we will prove to the world that we love our horses, and that the things PETA says about us are twisted and viscous lies.
The video-Natzi's are from Norfolk, Virginia...headquaters of PETA (who, by the way, killed 97% of the animals it "rescued" last year). They travel accross state lines to interfer with, and harrass, people in animal industries. Bayless is known for intimidating and harrassing the folks over at Barnum and Bailey's Circus. He is an old pro. There are several laws which state that what they are doing is not allowed. First, the AETA. (Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act)This is a federal law that says that one cannot cross state lines to harrass, intimidate, or interfere with an animal enterprise. Another law, which we have on our side, is a local law in Central Park. In the park you are not allowed to video tape for more than a certain time without a permit.
The next time we see you boys, we will be sure to envoke our rights and stop your outright harrassment. You dont actually think you can intimidate us, do you? You see, WE have the truth on our side. You can video all you like, but you will never find abuse or neglect. You can try to intimidate all you like, but you will never succeed in doing so. We have heard it all before. and we always win out in the end. Not, because we have millions of dollars at our disposal (like PETA), or because we have celebrities that lend their faces to our cause for free (like PETA), or because we can run ads, rent billboards, hire mega-lobbyists, hire huge law firms, resort to illegal activites (like PETA).......We will win because we are an iconic part of NYC and Central Park. We will win because we love our horses and tourists love them, too. We will win because PETA are liars.
