Statement by the Horse & Carriage Association of New York
"Councilman Tony Avella is a delusional, desperate and disturbing public figure who continues to spout extreme anti-Irish, anti-horse carriage prejudices for his own cheap publicity gain. The sooner he gets off his high horse and is sent out to pasture, the better off all New Yorkers will be. We applaud O'Flaherty's Alehouse for standing up for our horses, Irish working class industry and working families, and rejecting the lies of Tony Avella and his mean-spirited band of animal rights extremists."
